Treatments

Julie's sessions are influenced by the modalities described below.  Each session begins with a brief check in to understand your current symptom(s) and desired outcome(s). Treatment(s) will be suggested and discussed to best achieve your desired outcome.

Biodynamic Cranial Therapy  & Biodynamic Massage

The Biodynamic approach to healing, different from a biomechanical approach, challenges the practitioner to let go of agenda and preconceived ideas of how to work with a client's body and what a session should look like.  Rather, there's a deep softening into presence, into listening, into following and allowing the client's body's rhythms and movements to guide the session.

What transpires for the client, has been described as quietude.  Experienced as profound relaxation, integration, connection, stillness.  This stillness dissolves the distinctions which separate us from each other, nature and beyond.

Therapeutic Massage

From tight muscles to chronic anxiety, massage has long been proven to help relieve a variety of conditions.  Clinical evidence is mounting for specific effects of stress on immune and cardiovascular systems.

Of its many benefits, massage is effective in lowering the "sympathetic tone" of the nervous system, our "fight or flight response to stress. In addition, massage assists in the loosing of adhesive tissue, thus increasing flexibility and circulation to the body.

Core Energetics

As a system of body-oriented psychotherapy, Core Energetics combines movement, psychotherapy and spiritual process to activate the greater consciousness residing within. Because our

physical development coincides with our emotional and psychological development, it becomes critical that the therapeutic process address all of these aspects to connect us to our Core.

Founder, John Pierrakos, MD described Core Energetics as an education to inner reality.  Finding our way back to our Center, our Core, our loving self, is the focus of Core Energetics.  The result, is a renewed sense of self, the true self.

Polarity Therapy

A blend of modern science and complementary medicine, Polarity Therapy is a comprehensive health system involving energy-based bodywork, diet, exercise and self-awareness. Scientifically, it works with the human energy field, electromagnetic patterns expressed in mental, emotional and physical experience.

In Polarity Therapy, health is viewed as a reflection of the condition of the energy field, and therapeutic methods are enlisted to help restore balance to the field.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a method in traditional Chinese medicine in which the skin on the treated area is lubricated and then scraped quickly with a rounded object. This method helps relax the fascia and its corresponding muscles by improving blood and lymphatic circulation and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.

Therapeutic Cupping

A wonderful ancient tool that has found its place in the contemporary world of health care. Therapeutic Cupping is a modern form of vacuum therapy that creates suction and vacuum pressure to help soften tight muscles and tone attachments, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, move deep inflammation to the skin surface for release, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.
